New Life Sanctification

NEW LIFE SANCTIFICATION
Kingdom Kids devotions authorize Jesus’ LORDship over our lives.

Romans 6:1-23

Romans 6:2b-4: “We died to sin: how can we live in it any longer?
“Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?

“We were baptize into His death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may have a new life.”

This “new life” is what Apostle Paul also mentions in 2 Corinthians 5:17.  It means that Believers-in-Christ are born again spiritually as a new creation when we follow Jesus as LORD.  Check out Jesus’ discussion on this “born again” subject with Nicodemus in John chapter three.

Born again may have confused Nicodemus, but you can understand it.

Picture rising out of the waters of Baptism as leaving our old self drowned.  We rise out as new people ready to be transformed into Christ-likeness.  Baptism is the start of Christians’ new beginnings.  It is from the point of baptism where Christians can actually measure our transformation process.  God’s indwelling Spirit goes to work sanctifying Christians immediately after baptism.  He won’t stop until Christ returns.

Sanctification [SANK-tif-i-ka-shon] is God’s purpose when creating people in His image (Genesis 1:27).

“New life” is Apostle Paul’s not topic.  He warns us to “Work out our salvation with fear and trembling.” (Philippians 2:12).

Smile!  Our Father snaps pics of His kids in various personal transformations.

Rough edges of our flesh nature need smoothing.  Often, our Father allows trials to come to us as weapons that smooth human nature into the Spiritual, (or self-seeking into righteousness).  Our native flesh nature smooths into the supernatural of Christ-likeness.  God’s spirit requires our cooperation, though, or His work can’t transform us.

“Fear and trembling” isn’t easy work, guys!  But when we focus on Jesus instead of trials, we’ll notice the Spirit’s smoothing work.  Apostle Paul urges us forward in Philippians 4:13 with, “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”

To recap this truth, complete the lesson that’s linked below.

Take Home Nugget

After seasons of Spirit-sculpting us during difficult times, we emerge victoriously.  It’s like after a master chips excess stone away, a hunk of marble emerges as a beautiful sculpture.

Our Father gifts Christians a brand new nature in Spirit-sculpting, as a bonus for choosing His Son!

Watch your latest pic develop from a negative to positive.  Lifted from the dark room, your latest pic looks more like Jesus!

Heavenly Father, just as David wrote in Psalm 23, Your rod (discipline) and staff (safety) comfort us, Your kids are advised to “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials.” (James 1:2).  Thank You.  Amen.
