Dependent on God's Grace

DEPENDENT ON GOD’S GRACE
Fifth of Kingdom Kids devotion series explaining Jesus’ LORDship over our lives.

Hebrews 13:9: “Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings.  It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by ceremonial foods, which are of no value to those who eat them.”

No one can obey God perfectly.  Kingdom kids are special, and even we cannot obey God perfectly.  Kingdom kids depend on God’s grace—the new covenant that LORD Jesus brought us.  Kingdom kids aren’t special because we earned God’s grace.

No one can earn grace because its very definition is undeserved, unmerited favor.  When someone buys a pet, that dog or cat is loved, fed, played with, and cared for in every way.  The pet cannot care for itself.   It did nothing to earn our favor (except look adorable).

Pets never worry.  It totally depends on its owner for EVERYTHING!  Kingdom kids are that dependent on Yahweh.  We’re different from our non-Christian brothers and sisters (and even some Christian kids who don’t know better).  Most people freak out whenever life deals them awful cards that don’t play out happiness.  Kingdom kids know that our King Creator transcends (is sovereign or rules over) all needs and every concern.

The difference is that Kingdom kids know that we’re not in charge and trust the
One who is!  We don’t usually freak; we pray instead of worrying.  Our hearts remain peaceful even when the world tosses us inside a blender.

“From the fullness of His grace, we have all received one blessing after another.  For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” John 1:16-17 pretty much sums up everyday life for Kingdom kids!

Take Home Nugget

Kingdom kids qualify for Yahweh’s grace because of our FAITH in Jesus.  Check out the lesson linked below that list blessings from obedience and curses that come from disobedience from God’s Law.  All humans are born under God’s Law, but Jesus came to set us free from the Law.  All condemnation and curses under God's Law evaporate under His Grace.

Those who believe in Jesus are blessed with peace from His finished work on the cross.  Kingdom kids live without fear dodging troubles that try swallowing us whole.  We walk with the full assurance that God’s blessings of righteousness, healing, protection, and provision will be real in our lives!  We believe and receive daily blessings.

Thank You, Yahweh, for Y’shua’s sacrifice under the Law and for Your New Covenant of Grace that He bought for Believers!  Jesus brings us abundant life here on earth, right now.  I praise You in His precious name.  Amen.
