Knowing Jesus

KNOWING JESUS

2 Peter 1:2-3:  “Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.  His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.”

This devotion was written so that you realize: God delights in blessing you!   Did you catch that Jesus has already “given us EVERYTHING we need for life and godliness” when we know Him?
This is Scriptural promise. …A demonstration of grace. …A profound truth of who Jesus is.

It’s hard for humans to grasp that there is no limit to Jesus’ goodness.  He’s calling you right now.  He bends down to meet you right where you are.  He stretches your faith speaking directly into your heart.
Jesus is unlimited.  Jesus longs to pour out blessings to those who want to know Him.  There is no end to His favor.

Jesus has already given Believers everything needed for life.  That includes—but not limited to—physical and emotional health, talents that drive learning and career choices, people who guide us, and food and shelter.
God wants to bless you with all these things, and more—spilling out “through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.”  That all depends on Jesus!  WHEN we depend on Jesus, He becomes our answer to every challenge.  THEN grace, peace and provision are multiplied in our lives!

Jesus is our provision.  Jesus is our peace.  Jesus is our wisdom.  Jesus is our very life!  WHEN we make Jesus our everything, THEN everything will follow us.  In fact, goodness and mercy [love] will chase after us!  As our Shepherd, Psalm 23 ends with, “Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,…”  Check out the lesson linked below for more unearned benefits Believers receive when knowing Jesus.

Take Home Nugget

Did you gloss over “grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of Jesus our Lord” from the opening Scripture?  Grace and peace cannot be earned.  But everyone needs grace and peace.  WHEN you know Jesus, THEN grace and peace in every area of your life can be yours in abundance!  There’s no limit!

God yearns for His kids to understand that His love also has no limit.  Let’s begin knowing Jesus.  Know Him as teacher (John 13:14.)  Know Him as wonderful Counselor, almighty God, everlasting Father and Prince of peace (Isaiah 9:6).  WHEN you’re positioned in Jesus, THEN unlimited grace, peace and favor of God will chase after you!
