You are a Son and Heir to God

YOU ARE A SON AND AN HEIR TO GOD

Galatians 4:6-7: “Because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, ‘Abba, Father,’ so you are no longer a slave, but a son and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.”

Our Heavenly Father wants the world for His kids.  So, “He chose us in Him [whoever believes in Jesus as Savior and Lord], before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.  In love, He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ in accordance to his pleasure and will,” (Ephesians 1:4-5).

The second recorded temptation the devil challenged Jesus with began, “If You are the Son of God,” (Matthew 4:6).  IF YOU ARE THE SON OF GOD!  What contempt!  Has the devil ever insulted you like this?  After he shows you what you don’t have, or wonders why you’re still sick, he wants you to doubt being God’s kid.

If he EVER provokes you this way, laugh in his face.  The moment you believe that you’re a son, or daughter, of God and His heir—you’ll begin to live like one.  And the devil lost the argument.  For as an heir of God through Christ, you inherit ALL the blessings of God which Jesus died to give you.

Some of the blessings are listed here: forgiveness of sins, salvation, healing, wholeness, provision, favor from and intimacy with God.  Answered prayer.  Jesus rose from the dead to ensure that you get everything He died to give you.  And He’s alive today to make sure that His blood-bought inheritance is seen in your life.

So, as children of the King, we’re co-heirs of Christ.  Right now.

He owns everything, and gives us what we need.  He is your Creator, governs every breath you take and healing is on his wings (Malachi 4:2).   “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.”  Jesus confirms in Matthew 5:5.  Meek isn’t being a “doormat” to people on earth, but a state of humility before God.

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away,” shows your future inheritance from Revelation 21:1.

Enjoy your inheritance in Christ.  Not because you deserve it, but because Jesus paid for it with His blood!
What’s even better, Jesus says in John 15:15, “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know His master‘s business.  Instead I have called you friends, for everything I have learned from my Father I have made known to you.”

So grateful for Your friendship, Lord Jesus—being Your co-heir is awesome!
