Satan Cannot...

SATAN CANNOT…

Romans 8:33:  “Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen?  It is God who justifies.”

Satan cannot:  read your mind, know the future, force people to sin.  He’s not omniscient [om-NEE-shi-ent] means all-knowing.  He’s not omnipotent [om-NIP-o-tent] means all-powerful.  He’s not omnipresent [om-nee-PREZ-ent] means everywhere at once.  Satan isn’t infinite [IN-fin-it] means endless, unlimited.

But God is all these things.

Satan is limited to space and time.  He must ask permission to touch one of God’s kids.  We see in Job 1:6 that Satan approached God in His throne room.

God’s throne is the most holy place.  Why could Satan come straight to God’s throne?   Because Adam sinned, forfeiting his right to be there (Genesis 3:6).  The devil had something he wanted to prove to God about Job:  “Have You not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? ...But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face.”
“The Lord said to Satan, ‘Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.”  (Job 1:9, 11-12).

The book of Job shows how the devil destroyed Job’s life—without   laying a finger on him.  Job lost everything he owned, and his children, even his health.  Job’s friends came to console him; and Job was sorely tested.  But Job refused to curse God.

We wonder if that could ever happen to us.

Praise God, NO!  The last Adam, Jesus, cleansed heaven with the sprinkling of His blood.  His blood cleansed and redeemed the unclean place where Satan walked and stood before God.  (Hebrews 9:22-24).

There remains no place in heaven for Satan to come before God.  Jesus said in Luke 10:18: “I saw Satan fall like lightening from Heaven.”

Who comes before God in heaven now?  Jesus!  Jesus—who died, and rose again is at the Father’s right hand—interceding for us (Romans 8:34).  Job longed for such a redeemer (Job 9:33).  Job’s nightmare is our dream-come-true.  Check out the lesson, linked below.

Take Home Nugget

Although the devil is barred from Heaven now, he still accuses, tests and tempts us on earth.  He loves to deceive because he has no real power.  His game is trying to convince God’s kids that we’re unworthy.  LOOK AT WHAT YOU JUST DID!  GOD WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!

Don’t fall for his lies.  The opening Scripture says that it is God who justifies.  Everyone who accepts Jesus as Savior is in God’s family.  No questions asked.  Jesus’ holy precious blood forgave your sins.  You are welcome in God’s throne room, dearly-loved child of God!

Perfect standing, mercy and grace, Thank You Jesus for Your perfect sacrifice!
