Mind of Christ

MIND OF CHRIST

1 Corinthians 2:14-16

"The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.  The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man’s judgment: ‘For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?’  But we have the mind of Christ."

Believers who want to live the abundant life Jesus promises, must replace God’s truth for every thought that disagrees with His Word (John 10:10).  Living the abundant life in agreement with God is exactly what our Creator intends for His kids.

But the world has lots of distractions that people run after.  God pays attention to what lures Believers away from Him.  The way Believers think is vitally important to the Father.

So, He gives us the mind of Christ at the moment of salvation.

The truly wondrous ability to line up our thoughts with the Lord’s is a gift.  But like a musical instrument, learning how to produce sweet sounds takes practice.  That’s our responsibility.  Unless we’ve been Christians our whole lives, our minds are pre-programmed with the world’s clutter.  God wants to be most important in people’s lives.

The world’s temptations appear enticing, but they are totally worthless.  They excite our flesh nature: food, fun and sex.  Reprogramming minds with God’s truth is an ongoing process.  Believers cooperate with God’s indwelling Spirit throughout this transformation.  Soon, we notice changes.

Life situations take on a new perspective.   Duel viewpoints can be contrasted when viewed from different angles.  One human, the other divine should be easily classified.  Choosing the correct path is simple.  Instinctively obvious.

Even lifelong Believers should continually compare thoughts, attitudes and beliefs to Jesus’ teaching.

Filling our minds with Scriptural truths quickly reveal mismatches.  Wrong thoughts stand out at awkward angles.  False beliefs simply don’t fit inside a Spiritual person.  The obedient, wise student immediately realigns one’s heart with God’s truth.

Proverbs 18:21 says that the power of life and death is in your tongue.  Let’s put that to the test.  Let’s use the power of our tongue for life.  Let’s confess daily, “I have the mind of Christ!”

The mind of Christ is not evil.  The mind of Christ is not stupid.  The mind of Christ is not forgetful.  The mind of Christ is truth.  The mind of Christ is love.  Since the Lord has empowered Believers to think right, let’s practice the mind of Christ!

Thank You, Father, for giving me the mind of Your Son Jesus!  May it lead me into Your truth and always serve You eagerly with great joy.  Amen.
